Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Why?

Youth Mental Heath First aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance youth disorders.

This training will give you the skills to support and identify adolescents ( 12-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Who can take it?

Parents, coaches, anyone who works with youth, school staff, youth leaders

This training is being brought to our community in collaboration with our community partners- The Northport- East Northport Library and CN Guidance and Counseling services.  As we move into an age where 1 in 5 of our teens and young adults live with a mental health condition and 5.13 % of youth report having a substance and/or alcohol problem- this is a great opportunity to get educated  in common signs and symptoms, how to interact when a crisis is present and how to connect with help in your community.

Dates are: April 16th and April 18th-  5:30-9:30  ( you must take both days. This is an 8 hour training split into 2 days).
